Prescriptions

Ordering repeat prescriptions

There are multiple ways you can order repeat medication, these being online, in person, via the pharmacy or by post.  The easiest way is online, and we now have NEW "Online Services" which patients can sign-up for (this will in time replace the existing prescription system).

We do not take repeat prescription requests over the phone.

Prescriptions should be requested at least 48 hours in advance.  Please also select a local pharmacy for your prescription to be sent to, and allow another 48 hours before attending your nominated Pharmacy before collecting your prescription. Some pharmacies offer a ‘managed prescription’ service. If you choose this option then you do not require to contact the practice for ordering or collection of prescriptions.

NEW Patient Services

Patient Services has been in Scotland for a while and is widely used by most practices.  Patient Access Services allows you to view what repeat medications can be ordered.  It provides direct access to your notes on our system (called Vision) to view medication only, and shows the last time you received the medication as well the progress of any requests.  There is no need to type in medication names and quantities just simply tick what you require. It also shows your preference pharmacy which is held on your record.

If you have NOT already registered for the online service (with username and password created) then please complete the form below.  Once completed, we will call you to verify your ID and then you receive a email with instructions on how to create your unique username and password. Fill in Form Here!

Medication reviews

If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. We will be in touch when you need to come in for a review.

What to do with old medicines

Take it to the pharmacy you got it from or bring it in to the surgery. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.
